At Chick-fil-A New Bern Avenue, we believe we are called to be a lighthouse to our community — a place that shines with excellence, care, integrity, and leadership.

We are looking for a Kitchen Director who doesn’t just want to run a kitchen, but who wants to build people, create systems, and raise the standard of operational excellence.

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for food quality, financial stewardship, team development, and protecting the heart of our Back of House culture.

Position Overview

The Kitchen Director is responsible for leading all Back of House operations with precision, accountability, and excellence. This leader ensures:

  • Food cost is managed with integrity
  • Inventory systems are accurate and proactive
  • Food quality never slips
  • Team members are developed into future leaders

This role is about more than execution — it’s about multiplication. We are looking for someone who will grow others to lead.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence

  • Protect and execute Chick-fil-A food quality standards every shift
  • Maintain speed of service without compromising accuracy
  • Ensure food safety and cleanliness exceed expectations
  • Build systems that create consistency and reduce chaos

  • Oversee and protect target food cost percentages
  • Conduct weekly inventory and monthly variance analysis
  • Identify waste trends and implement corrective systems
  • Forecast ordering based on sales trends and growth

Inventory Leadership

  • Manage ordering, receiving, storage, and rotation (FIFO)
  • Ensure product availability without over-ordering
  • Create clear systems for tracking and accountability

Leadership Development

  • Recruit, train, and coach Back of House leaders
  • Create a culture of ownership, urgency, and discipline
  • Hold team members accountable while developing their potential
  • Identify and mentor future shift leaders and directors
  • Model servant leadership and emotional maturity

Who You Are

  • A disciplined leader who values systems and structure
  • A developer of people — you measure success by who you grow
  • Financially aware and data-driven
  • Calm under pressure and solutions-oriented
  • Willing to work shoulder-to-shoulder with your team
  • Passionate about being part of something bigger than yourself

Schedule & Commitment

  • Full-time leadership role
  • Open availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Active presence in the kitchen daily
