Lead daily BOH operations while staying fully hands-on on the line and helping drive consistency, speed, and kitchen culture.

We are hiring a full-time Kitchen Manager for John & Molly’s Neighborhood Tavern in Eastampton, NJ.

This is not a back-office management role. We are looking for a strong BOH leader who leads from the line, supports prep and execution, helps train the team, and keeps the kitchen running smoothly during busy service.

John & Molly’s is a family-owned neighborhood restaurant operating in a historic 19th-century building with a strong local following and steady volume.

We are known for fresh seafood, steaks, sautéed dishes, and craft beverages served in a warm, community-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen operations during busy lunch and dinner service
• Work the line and support the team during peak periods
• Prepare seafood, steaks, sautéed dishes, and tavern favorites with consistency
• Oversee ordering, receiving, inventory, and vendor communication
• Maintain recipe accuracy, food quality, and portion control
• Train, support, and motivate a 5–10 person kitchen team
• Ensure food safety, sanitation, and kitchen organization
• Keep service moving efficiently during high-volume shifts
• Support a respectful, guest-focused kitchen culture

Qualifications

• BOH leadership experience as Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, Kitchen Lead, or similar
• Strong scratch kitchen and recipe execution skills
• Experience working hands-on in high-volume service
• Experience with ordering, inventory, and vendor management
• Strong sauté and hot line experience preferred
• Food safety certification preferred (ServSafe a plus)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long shifts
• Reliable transportation and stable work history
