Rosie's Wine Bar is looking for a talented, self-sufficient Kitchen Manager/Chef to join us from the ground up in Peoria Heights, IL. If you're a skilled culinarian who thrives running a lean, high-quality kitchen and you want your fingerprints on something from day one this is your role.
About Rosie's We're an intimate 65-seat wine bar focused on exceptional wines and food that genuinely complements them. Unpretentious but elevated. A real gathering place with character. We're not a chain, and we're not trying to be.
The Food Our menu is built around shareable small plates, seasonal ingredients, and thoughtful pairings. Think burrata caprese, rosemary lamb lollipops, hot honey prosciutto flatbreads, garlic mussels, and a weekly fondue night that's become a cornerstone of our experience. The seasonal menu rotates to keep things fresh and give you creative room to grow.
What You'll Do
- Own the kitchen prep, execution, quality, and consistency
- Manage 1-2 kitchen staff and cultivate a culture of care and craft
- Execute and evolve a seasonal menu in collaboration with ownership
- Source ingredients and build supplier relationships
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
- Bring energy, ownership, and pride to every plate
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of kitchen management or lead cook experience
- Comfortable working in a small, hands-on kitchen environment
- A passion for food that complements wine you understand balance and flavor
- Someone who can do it all and takes pride in doing it well
- Positive, collaborative attitude we're building a team and a culture here
Compensation $20 $24/hr + tips, commensurate with experience
