    Join Our Team as Kitchen Manager – Lead a Focused and Collaborative Back-of-House Team


    About the Position

    The Kitchen Manager is a hands-on, working leadership position that focuses on operational structure, quality control, team support, and prep organization. This role requires a high level of ownership and consistency, as well as the ability to maintain ServSafe standards and hold team members accountable to daily prep, cleanliness, and communication protocols.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead daily prep execution, ensuring items are completed to spec and on schedule.
    • Oversee walk-in organization, labeling, rotation (FIFO), and consolidation.
    • Maintain proper food storage and sanitation practices in line with ServSafe guidelines.
    • Perform equipment and station checks and ensure cleanliness at all times.
    • Support the Chef de Cuisine in scheduling, training, and coaching line and prep staff.
    • Communicate with FOH leadership about prep needs, product shortages, and inventory levels.
    • Maintain prep checklists and assist with writing prep lists for PM shifts.
    • Support service when needed and lead by example on the line when required.
    • Assist with inventory, ordering, and vendor communication as directed.
    • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented BOH culture.

    What We’re Looking For (Please Read Carefully)

    We’re seeking a proactive and highly organized kitchen leader with strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset. This position is ideal for someone with excellent prep fundamentals who also enjoys problem-solving, mentoring, and maintaining structure in a dynamic kitchen setting.


    Minimum Requirements

    • Minimum 2 years of BOH leadership experience in a high-volume kitchen.
    • Strong prep, organizational, and sanitation skills.
    • Experience leading or managing a kitchen team.
    • Familiarity with prep tracking systems, inventory, and ordering.
    • Strong communication skills and a detail-oriented work style.
    • California Food Handler’s Card required.
    • Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
    • Must be able to lift 50lbs and stand for extended periods of time
