Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced and passionate Kitchen Manager to lead the culinary operations of an upcoming Japanese Cuisine restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, menu planning, and kitchen management within fine dining or Japanese cuisine settings. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee daily kitchen activities, ensure food safety standards, and deliver exceptional dining experiences. The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for maintaining high-quality food service, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring efficient restaurant operations.

Duties

  • Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating of Japanese dishes.
  • Develop and implement innovative menu items that align with authentic Japanese cuisine standards.
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain proper food handling procedures to ensure freshness and safety.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, including training on culinary techniques, knife skills, and food safety protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation and food safety practices.
  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation to uphold the restaurant s reputation for fine dining excellence.
  • Assist in catering events or special functions as needed.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in culinary roles with a focus on Japanese cuisine or fine dining environments.
  • Strong background in food industry operations including food preparation, cooking, and food handling.
  • Experience in menu planning and meal preparation tailored to Japanese dishes.
  • Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques specific to Japanese cuisine.
  • Prior experience managing a kitchen team or dietary department is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations applicable to restaurant settings.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate staff effectively.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and quality control.
