Job Summary
A Kitchen Employee assists in the preparation, cooking, and handling of seafood and other menu items. This role ensures food quality, cleanliness, and efficiency in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist cooks with food preparation and basic cooking tasks
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, workstations, and equipment
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Stock and organize ingredients and supplies
- Properly store food items to prevent spoilage
- Assist with receiving and unloading deliveries
- Dispose of waste and maintain a clean work environment
- Work as part of a team to ensure timely food preparation
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen or food service experience (helpful but not required)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Work in cold and wet conditions (common in seafood prep areas)
