As a member of our kitchen staff, you will ensure the highest quality food is always prepared per the exact recipe specifications. Responsible for completing all items on the daily preparation list, stocking basic and critical items throughout the shift, cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining equipment, utensils, and tools. Ensure the caf is clean, free from trash/debris, dish bins are cleared timely, and tables and chairs are properly cleaned. Primary duties will include, but not be limited to: CORE TASKS - Knowledge of general cooking procedures, including weights, measurements, and volume.
- Restaurant/kitchen experience preferred but not required.
- Work quickly to fill orders with a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment and as a member of a team.
- Work in a small kitchen area and stand for extended periods of time.
- Keep the Caf Manager updated on low or out-of-stock items by anticipating store and customer needs
- Receive and review all kitchen vendor orders
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, including a deep cleaning on weekends
- Clear tables of dishes, cups, and trash and remove bus bins from condiment bars.
- Stock expresso bar with coffee mugs, glasses, and small wares.
- Ensure all plates, glassware, and silverware are properly cleaned and sanitized.
- Daily wipe and restock the condiment bar and retail shelving
- Routinely clean the bar area (including the steam wand) and grinders
- Sweep and vacuum floors and clean caf windows
- Remove trash from the caf area and kitchen area
- Ensure customers are warmly received and welcomed and engaged in sincere and friendly conversation.
- Respond to questions/orders/concerns in a professional manner
- Actively participate in training sessions to advance your food and beverage education
- Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers
- Respond proactively to prevent negative customer service situations.
