Kitchen Staff (Part-Time, Weekdays) — Temp-to-Hire Opportunity

25–30 hours/week | Springfield, NJ (In-Person)

Organization: Social Clubhouse, Inc.

Location: Springfield NJ 0708 (In-Person)

Pay Range: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour based on experience

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00am start time, typically ending around 2:00pm (flexible end time based on program needs)

No Evenings or Weekends

Join a Growing Team Supporting Mental Health Recovery

Social Clubhouse is seeking a reliable and compassionate Kitchen Staff member to help prepare and serve daily meals for adults in our mental health partial care program.

This is a temp-to-hire position, offering the opportunity to transition into a full-time role with benefits as our program continues to grow. We are looking for someone interested in becoming a long-term member of our team.

What You Will Do:

  • Prepare and serve daily breakfast and lunch

  • Assist with weekly meal planning and food purchasing

  • Follow CACFP food guidelines for compliant meal service

  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness (dishwashing, sanitation, storage)

  • Receive and organize food deliveries

  • Support occasional special meals and program events

  • Collaborate with staff to maintain a welcoming, respectful environment

Lunch service concludes around 1:10pm, followed by cleanup.

What We Are Looking For:

  • At least 1 year of food preparation experience (required)

  • Experience in a commercial or high-volume kitchen preferred

  • NJ Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain)

  • Valid driver's license

  • Ability to lift 30 lbs

  • Reliable, organized, and able to work independently

Preferred (not required):

  • Experience with adults with mental health or special needs

  • Background in behavioral health, rehab, hospital, or community programs

  • Prevocational or training program experience
