General Purpose of Job:
To perform washing, general cleaning, and storage functions of the Food and Nutrition Service department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains utmost level of confidentiality at all times.
- Adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.
- Responsible for starting the dish machine, filling all tanks, and ensuring proper operations of the equipment.
- Responsible for cleaning of dish machine as assigned (i.e. de-liming of hard water).
- Must follow proper procedures for washing of dishes in machine or in the three-compartment sink (i.e. using correct scraping procedures, cleaning solutions, and proper racks.
- Handles equipment (dishes, pots/pans, etc.) with caution to prevent damage and breakage.
- Returns all clean dishes to proper location after cleaning.
- Responsible for cleaning all floors and heavy equipment used in the department.
- Assists Warehouseman with storage and stocking of food and supplies as needed.
- Assures that all trash in department is collected and taken to proper location.
- Attends all department and hospital in-services as required.
- Performs special cleaning and other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
