Full-Time, Days/Evenings, Rotating weekends and holidays

Summary:

Supervises within the food services department including staff, resident meal service, quality assurance, special functions and regulatory compliance while supplying all the nutritional needs of the residents on campus.

  • Assists Executive Chef in overseeing daily food service operations.
  • Maintain standards for the safe and sanitary operation of the department.
  • Ensure that all local, state, federal, accreditation, certification/licensure rules and regulations are enforced in addition to all SMC Policy and Procedure.
  • Assist with meal service and food preparation as assigned. Ensure that quality meals are served in a timely and sanitary manner.
  • Ensure employee job routines and schedules, cleaning lists, as well as departmental policies and procedures are followed.
  • Assist with employee orientation and training as requested.
  • Assist in interviewing and disciplining employees under direction of Executive Chef.

 

Qualifications:

  • Three or more years of Food Service Experience.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • ServSafe certification within one year of employment.
  • Basic understanding of computer skills and Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Must possess excellent oral/written communication and people skills.
  • Ability to prepare large quantity recipes.
  • Ability to safely operate all types of kitchen equipment.
