Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Commercial Kitchen Service Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in servicing and maintaining commercial kitchen equipment, plumbing, and performing general maintenance. Refrigeration knowledge is a plus.
This role requires a keen attention to detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a willingness to help in all areas of maintenance when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections of commercial kitchen equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety. • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions in a timely manner. • Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty components, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems. • Install new equipment according to manufacturer specifications, ensuring proper alignment, connectivity, and operational efficiency. • Maintain accurate records of service, parts usage, and equipment status for reporting. • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working on-site or in the workshop. • Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate repairs, parts orders, and services schedules.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Commercial Kitchen Service Technician or similar role, preferably in a fast-paced service environment. • Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment, including but not limited to gas and electric appliances, HVAC systems, and plumbing fixtures, and refrigeration. • Technical proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems. • Familiarity with reading technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with team members. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure thorough documentation and efficient service delivery. • Completion of technical school program in HVAC, electrical, refrigeration, or related field. • Able to stand or walk for 8-10 hours a day and carry up to 50 pounds. • Occasionally be required to work in a cold refrigerated area kept at 35 degrees Fahrenheit.
Education and Certification:
• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a technical school program in HVAC, electrical, refrigeration, or a related field is required. • Relevant certifications such as CFESA (Commercial Food Equipment Service Association), EPA, or similar credentials are a plus.
