Liberation Programs is hiring Kitchen Utility Staff for our Men's Residential Treatment Facility in Stamford. CT. The Kitchen Utility Staff will assist the Cook in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen at LPI's long term residential program in support of their efforts to return to a healthy lifestyle free of substance abuse and addiction.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Professional Kitchen
  • Maintain a clean, safe, orderly, professional environment in the kitchen and in the dining hall
  • Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of all cutlery, glassware, dishes, and kitchen appliances
  • Maintain organization of all pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, utensils and glassware
  • Remove all trash and garbage from the kitchen and dining hall
  • Sanitize all preparation areas, eating surfaces and floors in the kitchen and dining hall
  • Clean and Sanitize all tables in the dining hall after every meal
  • Check the operation of all kitchen appliances (dishwashers, refrigerators, freezer, range, oven, etc.) and promptly report any operational issues to the Cook.
  • Adhere to all regulations in compliance with health and sanitation codes

Meal and Menu Planning
  • Assist the Cook in preparation of food that meets any special dietary concerns or needs of clients
  • Assist the Cook in serving meals to residents

Inventory
  • Assist the Cook in ordering and inventory control at Lib House to ensure cost effectiveness

Education and Experience Required
  • Must have a work history that demonstrates the ability to get work accomplished on time, on budget and within predetermined specifications
  • Must have strong oral and written communications skills along with the interpersonal skills to work effectively at all levels of the organization and its stakeholders
  • Must hold certification in food preparation and handling.
