Overview

Horton, Inc. has an opening for a Klondike Operator to work in our Westminster, SC location. This is a 3rd shift position and standard work hours are Sunday-Wednesday 9:30 pm - 7:30 am. Occasional overtime may be required. This position starts at $19.50 per hour.

 

Position Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for inspecting components, assembling, testing, packaging and transporting fan clutches and subassemblies to the finished goods area.

Responsibilities

Klondike Operator Job Responsibilities:

1. Assembles fan clutch units using new parts.

1.1Collects a sufficient quantity of parts and prepares for assembly in order to complete the number of units specified by the production schedule. 

1.2Assembles units using assembly and sales drawings as well as follows standard assembly procedures. 

1.3Continuously performs quality checks on assembled units using inspection equipment as well as visual checks to piece parts and assembled units. 

 

2. Packages and prepares units/piece parts for shipment to customers.

2.1Attaches all identifying labels and serial numbers. (Pin stamp as required.) 

2.2Boxes finished units, including hardware and literature, and palletize boxes per standardoperating procedure. 

2.3Records finished goods information in Microsoft Excel. 

2.4Uses material handling equipment to move finished goods to the shipping area. 

 

3. Assembles subassemblies to be packed with finished units.

3.1Disassembles units which do not meet standards and replaces faulty components or corrects assembly errors. 

 

4. Exhibits and performs basic personal computer functions in various software systems, including but not limited to:

4.1  Entering inspection production approvals as required. 

4.2  Entering accurate productivity/efficiency data as required. 

4.3Using the business operating system to check inventory levels, and other production related tasks. 

4.4Using the Horton “intranet” to access quality information, blueprints, safety information, and other production related information.  

 

5. Reworks units which fail to pass quality control checks.

 

6. Provides training in work methods, procedures, and work instructions toemployees and temporary workers.

 

7. Performs other duties as assigned by area Superviser/Lead person.



Qualifications



Klondike Operator Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma, or equivalent (GED), is required. 
  • Previous relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.
  • Ability to work well in a group and individually.
  • Some degree of mechanical aptitude may be required.
  • Previous experience with presses or similar equipment may be essential.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
