About the Company
Our client is a long-standing commercial interiors and furnishings partner, representing 100+ contract furniture brands with a flagship education-market manufacturer partnership. Operating for 45+ years with a growing regional footprint across the upper Midwest, they deliver end-to-end solutions: design, specification, procurement, project management, and installation. Average sales tenure across the company exceeds 20 years, and compensation rewards long-term portfolio building.
The Opportunity
This is a true ground-floor build: a brand-new territory covering North Dakota and South Dakota, with no existing book to inherit. You will build relationships from scratch with school districts, higher education facilities, and state and local government buyers, while driving the full sales cycle from prospecting through close and post-sale relationship management. This is a big, open geography with real long-term upside for someone who wants to own it.
What You'll Do
Build a brand-new territory from the ground up across North Dakota and South Dakota, prospecting, relationship-building, and closing.
Develop relationships with school districts, higher education facilities teams, and state/local government buyers
Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, presenting, closing, and staying engaged through delivery and post-sale relationship management
Work alongside a supportive and established internal design, project coordination, and installation team so you can stay focused on the field
Track pipeline and forecasting with real discipline. This territory rewards activity and follow-through
Regional travel within North & South Dakota Territory.
What You'll Bring
2-5+ years of proven, high-activity B2B or outside sales experience, backgrounds like uniform/facility services, copier/office equipment, or similar high-volume, full-cycle sales training grounds are a strong fit
Genuinely hungry and entrepreneurial, comfortable building a territory from zero with real autonomy, not inheriting a book
Self-directed and accountable; thrives without daily oversight
Comfortable with heavy regional travel across a large, rural-and-urban-mixed geography
CRM proficiency and general tech comfort
Existing network in North Dakota or South Dakota is a plus, not a requirement
Work Model
Field-first, home-based, no fixed office for this territory
Significant time in the field across North Dakota and South Dakota; remaining time for CRM, proposals, and follow-up
Note: a large open geography with real long-term earning potential for someone who wants to build it themselves
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive draw plus uncapped commission, with real upside as the territory and portfolio grow
Health, dental, and vision insurance
401(k) retirement plan
Car allowance / travel support for a field-heavy role
