Job Summary

The Registered Funds group seeks a highly motivated and experienced fund lawyer to join the group as a Knowledge Management Attorney (KM Attorney). The successful candidate will play an important role in developing and implementing the registered funds RF knowledge management KM strategy for and on behalf of the RF group and in coordination with the Asset Management Practice-which includes the RF Private Funds PF Private Funds Regulatory PFRG and Derivatives & Commodities D&C groups.

This attorney will be responsible for supporting the adoption and implementation of advanced legal technology and artificial intelligence tools within Ropes & Grays RF group. This role focuses on driving innovation in workflows supporting the integration of tools such as Harvey Hebbia and ChatGPT and partnering with attorneys to enhance client delivery internal efficiency and knowledge accessibility.

This attorney will play a lead role in working with members of the RF group to define its KM strategy as well as drive critical changes to the RF groups KM capabilities to help meet defined strategic goals. The ideal candidate should have both relevant practice experience and knowledge management experience such as working with forms and managing precedent documents.

The KM Attorney will populate and maintain model and precedent workspaces keep abreast of market trends develop and implement training and assist with any other KM-related projects.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with RF partners and senior attorneys to identify opportunities to improve legal workflows through technology and AI integration.

Lead the development of the RF groups KM strategy in collaboration with other members of the RF KM team.

Identify, recommend, facilitate group consensus around and implement effective tools, solutions, and processes that will help the RF group achieve its strategic goals.

Stay at the forefront of registered funds market developments and trends.

Proactively identify and implement changes to RF KM strategy and corresponding KM tools, resources, and processes that will keep the RF group at the cutting edge of market developments.

Proactively identify and prioritize which KM-related client deliverables should be developed, revised, or updated in alignment with RF KM strategy.

Drive the development and enhancement of best practices and processes for maintaining RF KM resources and materials with an eye towards prioritization and efficiency.

Identify and drive the prioritization and management of and enhancements to forms, checklists, and other KM resources.

Ensure that updates to KM resources reflect legal and regulatory changes and developments and are in alignment with RF KM strategy.

Proactively seek out, evaluate, and recommend third-party resources that deliver legal and market knowledge and solutions that are complementary to the RF practices strategy.

Job Requirements

J.D. and a minimum of 3 - 5 years of registered funds practice experience.

Experience at a large law firm is preferred but in-house counsel experience will also be considered.

Admission and in good standing to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction you are applying.

Strong writing ability and ability to communicate clearly and research skills.

Ability to establish credibility with Ropes & Gray attorneys and work with professional staff across a variety of functions in a multi-office environment.

Strong organizational and project management skills and proven attention to detail.

Compensation

In accordance with the States Pay Transparency Law, the anticipated pay range for this position is $200,000 to $325,000, which represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting.

In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary year-end bonus.
