Kuali Data Conversion Developer (Remote – Long-Term Contract)

We are seeking a Kuali Data Conversion Developer for a long-term remote contract opportunity with our client.

NOTE: This position is not open to subcontracting (C2C) or visa sponsorship.

Our client is currently utilizing Kuali Financial System (KFS) and is transitioning to an enterprise Workday platform. The selected candidate will play a key role in supporting this migration by maintaining, enhancing, designing, and developing batch data extraction processes that facilitate the movement of financial and related data from KFS to Workday.

This project-focused role centers on building and supporting batch jobs that extract data from KFS and transform it into formats required for Workday data imports. The ideal candidate will leverage established batch processing and integration patterns while identifying opportunities to enhance and optimize those processes to meet project objectives.

Working within the Platforms Team, this individual will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, and Workday implementation teams to ensure the accurate, timely, and reliable delivery of data throughout the migration effort.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Batch Development & Data Integration

• Develop and maintain batch jobs that extract data from KFS for Workday integrations.
• Apply established batch processing and data integration patterns to implement extract solutions.
• Enhance and refine existing processes to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Build and optimize data transformation processes to meet Workday data formatting and quality requirements.
• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all extract processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies and batch processing issues.

Software Development Lifecycle Activities

• Analysis: Collaborate with business and functional stakeholders to gather and document data extract requirements, including data definitions, mappings, and processing schedules.
• Development: Extend and enhance the KFS codebase to support data extraction requirements using established development practices.
• Testing & Validation: Perform comprehensive testing, reconciliation, and validation of data extracts against source systems.

Collaboration & Communication

• Partner with project managers, business analysts, Workday integration teams, and subject matter experts to support project objectives.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding data availability, project timelines, and issue resolution.
• Participate in technical reviews and team discussions to ensure alignment, quality, and successful delivery.

Quality & Standards

• Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to development standards, consistency, and performance expectations.
• Follow established best practices for batch processing, logging, monitoring, and error handling.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to data integration and migration processes.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of experience with data extracts and conversions
• Experience working with Kuali Financial System (KFS) and/or higher education financial systems.
• Experience supporting ERP migrations, data conversions, or Workday implementations.
• Demonstrated proficiency with writing custom Kuali Batch jobs to export data from KFS, and then writing the data to excel spreadsheets that can later be imported into Workday.  
• Experience with SQL and Oracle is required for this role. 
• Experience developing, testing, and supporting batch processing solutions.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Pay $60 - $80 / hour W2 Depending on Experience
