Title: KVCC Occupational Therapy Assistant Faculty / Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC)

Bargaining Unit/Salary Level: Salary and benefits commensurate with the Agreement between the Maine Community College System Trustees and the MEA Faculty Unit.

Qualifications: Qualified candidates will be an Occupational Therapy Practitioner with:

  • A minimum of a baccalaureate degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE-recognized regional or national accrediting body.  This degree may be in any discipline.

  • Hold a current Maine OTA license or be eligible for licensure in the State of Maine.

  • At least two years of clinical practice experience as an occupational therapy assistant with documented practice and teaching expertise in physical rehabilitation or psychosocial occupational therapy practice, supervision/management, and fieldwork education.

Responsibilities: In collaboration with the OTA Program Director, the OTA Faculty/AFWC will develop instructional materials, teach assigned content, advise students, evaluate student performance, participate in ongoing program assessment, participate in accreditation requirements, and be active in the OTA Advisory Board and KVCC community as a faculty participant.  This individual will develop, evaluate and coordinate all fieldwork education sites and provide oversight of all fieldwork education functions.  Applicants must remain current with developments in Occupational Therapy practice, membership, certification, professional development, teaching and learning methods and evaluation, and curriculum design.
