Piper Companies is seeking a Lab Animal Care Technician to join a research and production facility supporting animal care operations in Denver, PA. The Lab Animal Care Technician will play a key role in daily husbandry, facility upkeep, and ensuring animal welfare in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities of the Lab Animal Care Technician:
- Perform daily animal care duties including feeding, watering, and monitoring rabbits
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain animal housing and facility areas, including power washing
- Assist with animal movement, breeding support, and preparation for customer orders
- Operate sanitation and decontamination equipment such as autoclaves and cage washers
- Maintain accurate records of animal care, environmental data, and inventory
- Support shipment preparation, packaging, and transport of animals and supplies
Qualifications of the Lab Animal Care Technician:
- 1+ year of animal care experience preferred
- Willingness and ability to work hands-on with animals daily
- Ability to operate a forklift safely within a facility environment
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to follow strict protocols
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods
- Flexible availability for early hours, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
Compensation for the Lab Animal Care Technician includes:
- Salary range: $18/hr
