Essential Functions:
- Performs phlebotomy functions including collecting and processing venipuncture and fingerstick specimen collections.
- Responsible for correctly marking, transcribing, and checking lab orders and the data entry into the lab computer.
- Responsible for tracking, receiving, and finalizing reference lab results.
- Reports test results following protocols, alerting physicians and/or nurses immediately about critical results.
- Ensures specimen integrity and good laboratory practice in collecting specimens and in ensuring appropriate sampling and record keeping. Maintains equipment, instruments, and supplies as needed.

- Test and reports waived and moderate complexity test Such as automated Hematology and serology exams as provided by the CLIA regulations. alerting physicians and/or other care givers of critical results.
- Collects Various lab data like QC, Temperatures reagent Lot #'s for review by the Technical consultant or designee.
- Introducing patient specimens on to complex rated automatic testing devices (i.e. random-access chemistry and immunochemistry instrument) that do not require specimen modification. Does not release tests from these instruments.
- Maintain and replenish reagents for all instrumentation.
- Be trained ,competency assessed, and responsible for on-site maintenance of moderate and high complexity instruments.
- Ensures specimen integrity and good laboratory practice in collecting specimens and in ensuring appropriate sampling and record keeping.
- Maintains equipment, instruments, and supplies as needed.
- Processes samples with accuracy.
Minimum Education
High School diploma or proof of higher education is required.
Required Work Experience
Minimum of one year as a phlebotomist with two (2) years preferred.
At least one-year, full-time laboratory assistant experience in hospital based clinical laboratory required or successful completion of laboratory assistant training.
Preferred Qualifications
Phlebotomy Certification
At least two years of under-graduate level education in a biologic science or other STEM level course work, such as biology or chemistry, and some knowledge of medical terminology.
