Job Title: Lab Assistant IIIJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Assistant to join our team. This position plays a vital role in clinical lab science within a high-volume production environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or enter specimen and patient information into data systems.
• Ensure all lab equipment is functioning properly and perform minor maintenance.
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous medical/lab or production experience is preferred.
• Comfortable handling biological specimens.
• Ability to accurately identify specimens.
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills.
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turnaround times.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
• Must pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in a laboratory setting is preferred but not required.

Work Environment

This role operates in a high-volume production environment. Employees are expected to adhere to all safety protocols, maintain cleanliness, and manage physical demands such as sitting or standing for long periods. Flexibility in hours and overtime may be required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Raritan, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
