Schedule: Monday - Friday, potential Saturday or Sunday 10:30 am - 7
Location: Indianapolis IN 46250
Job Type: local contract
Contract Length: 3 months +
Pay Range: $18-$20 per hour
*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.
Duties: - Specimen Processing & Preparation: Receive, sort, centrifuge, aliquot, label, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing; check specimens for clots and fibrin and ensure proper storage and retrieval.
- Laboratory Operations: Prepare workstations, build worklists, prepare reagents/media, perform slide preparation and inoculation, and assist laboratory staff with routine testing activities.
- Quality Control & Equipment Maintenance: Perform assigned QA/QC activities, routine instrument maintenance, temperature monitoring, and weekly radioactive wipe tests.
- Laboratory Safety & Compliance: Follow PPE and safety requirements, decontaminate work areas, properly dispose of biohazardous materials, and maintain a safe laboratory environment.
- Documentation & Laboratory Support: Maintain department records and files, resolve pending lists, locate missing samples, enter data into laboratory computer systems, and complete required training and competency checklists.
Requirements: Education: High school diploma or equivalent - REQUIRED
License(s): preferred
Certification(s): preferred
Years of experience: Three years phlebotomy experience required
