Overview:
The Lab Customer Support understands and applies knowledge of specimen requirements when receiving specimens. Prepares specimens for testing as applicable. This can include: receiving, labeling centrifuging and plating. Answers telephone calls and assists caller with any questions or concerns regarding specimen collection. Adheres to laboratory and safety polices including compliance with all safety , accreditation and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:
Required Education: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Education: Certification from medical assistant program, military medical or laboratory assistant program.
Required Experience: Less than one year healthcare environment experience
Preferred Experience: Phlebotomy with specific experience in hospital and geriatric environment. Specimen processing. Experience using a Laboratory Information system for accessioning and specimen tracking. Registration and disposition of patients.
