Ultimate Staffing is seeking a Lab Engineer to join a client in Fort Worth. This is a full-time position. The role is 100% onsite at the client site.
The PSE Lab Engineer plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing and production operations through advanced materials analysis, solder joint evaluation, and failure analysis. This position applies hands-on laboratory expertise to assess product quality, investigate defects, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.
The ideal candidate has prior experience in roles such as Failure Analysis Engineer, Quality Engineer, Materials Engineer, Process Engineer, or Reliability/Test Engineer, with direct exposure to analytical techniques and electronic assembly standards. Strong technical documentation skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across cross‑functional teams are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed inspection and analysis of solder joints and electronic assemblies to assess workmanship, reliability, and welding quality.
Conduct material composition and elemental analysis, producing accurate, data‑driven technical reports.
Lead failure analysis investigations using industry‑standard methodologies to identify root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory analytical equipment, including:
Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)
Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS)
X‑ray inspection systems
Optical Microscopy (OM)
Support product qualification and reliability testing, including Dye & Pry analysis, cross‑sectioning, and related evaluations.
Prepare and present clear, professional technical reports summarizing findings, conclusions, and improvement recommen
