Salary Range: $75,000.00 To $95,000.00 AnnuallyJenike & Johanson is seeking a Laboratory Hardware Developer with 0-5 years of experience, onsite in our San Luis Obispo office. This position will be responsible for developing new lab equipment, and redesigning existing, custom laboratory equipment principally intended for our in-house use, globally.Responsibilities Design/build new hardware and retrofits for existing equipment to meet testing requirementsLead equipment projects from initial design, through production and lab qualificationProvides complete and accurate documentation; schematics, wiring diagrams, drawings, manualsEnsures equipment meets safety standards, is ergonomic, and provides an intuitive operator interfaceSupports all seven of our global offices with timely technical support to all laboratory technicians for hardware troubleshooting, repair, return to serviceWork with software development team to build equipment with seamless user experienceOccasional travelQualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering0-5 years of experience with laboratory testing equipment design, fabrication and deploymentStrong mechanical and electrical design skills with the ability to hit cost targetsExperience in: AutoCAD, preferred or Solid WorksProducing high quality 2D mechanical and electrical drawingsDesign low voltage 3 phase-powered equipmentInstrumentation calibration methods and best practicesAbility to design for real-world use with a focus on equipment diagnostics and repairability troubleshoot equipment in a methodical managerDesign for "rugged" (dusty, hot, humid) environments and frequent equipment transport at timesWillingness to: design for ad-hoc cases while maintaining a high standard and to review ad-hoc designs for general purpose useadopt existing equipment designs, with an eye to future revisionwork as part of a team and accept engineering/software inputs to drive hardware developmentMust have valid driver's license and passport, or ability to obtain one by employment#J-18808-Ljbffr
