Job Title: Lab Manager – Electronics Lab 

Location: Longmont, CO | Schedule: 40 hrs/week

Role Summary

Experienced Lab Manager needed to own electronics lab operations, lead lab organization, and perform hands-on precision soldering/rework (especially BGA). Also responsible for basic test bench setup and hardware validation support for engineering teams. Requires strong ownership, structure, and communication with engineering.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lab Management

• Own daily lab operations, organization, safety, and workflow
• Manage inventory of components, tools, consumables, and equipment
• Maintain calibration, upkeep, and readiness of lab equipment
• Enforce lab processes, standards, and cleanliness
• Coordinate with engineering teams for task prioritization and support
• Document lab procedures and activities

2. Soldering & Rework

• Expert-level BGA rework (remove, replace, reball)
• Fine-pitch soldering and precision component rework
• Use of rework stations (hot air / IR) and reballing tools
• Ability to pass hands-on practical soldering assessment

3. Bench Setup & Testing

• Set up and configure hardware test benches
• Perform basic bring-up and functional validation tests
• Use equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
• Capture and document test results

Required Qualifications

• Proven lab management experience (ownership of full lab operations)
• Expert BGA rework + reballing + fine-pitch soldering skills
• Hands-on ability demonstrated in practical assessment
• Experience setting up and running basic hardware test benches
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Stable career history in similar technical lab roles

Preferred Skills

• Linux system experience
• Familiarity with bench tools (scope, logic analyzer, PSU, DMM)
• Experience with lab inventory systems
• IPC certification (IPC-7711/7721 or equivalent)
• Clear, concise communication style
