Talent Space, Inc. is seeking a Lab Manager (Networking) in Sunnyvale, CA. The role involves supporting a team of engineers in developing cutting-edge networking technology. This position is crucial in assisting the design engineering team with product development, managing prototype boards, systems, and equipment, and handling asset tracking.

Primary Responsibilities and Required Skills

  • Support engineering activities such as testing, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electronic boards and systems, electro-mechanical systems, and specialized test equipment.
  • Perform detailed rework functions from schematics, diagrams, and verbal or written descriptions, determining appropriate methods or actions for rework.
  • Assist in the design, construction, testing, and checkout of test equipment, utilizing tools like oscilloscopes, DMMs, and specialized test apparatus.
  • Exhibit excellent skills in reworking SMT & BGA or small footprint components, ensuring high-level quality rework and inspection using microscopes and soldering hand tools.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work under high-stress situations and prioritize tasks to minimize testing downtime.
  • Build and troubleshoot test stations, repair boards with failed, incorrect, or mis-inserted components, solder shorts, open traces, and other issues.
  • Provide failed components and boards to engineering for evaluation as needed.
  • Perform ECO and repair rework on PCBs, including wiring, component removal and reinstallation, and etch and pad restoration for both surface mount and thru-hole technology.
  • Possess 5-10 years of experience in related fields.
