Manufacturing Company in Union City, CA is looking for a Test Engineer I to join their team. They are seeking a Packaging Testing Engineer I with a background in Packaging or Mechanical Engineering that will conduct and support package testing and validation. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong personal attributions and behaviors that will be instrumental for growth as a Test Engineer. This is a very hands-on active role with physical demands to support client testing.
Shift: Monday - Friday
Compensation: $30 - $32/hr.
A Test Engineer will:
- Primary focus is to conducti client-requested package testing. Testing standards defined by ISTA and ASTM standards, customer requirements and Quality Management System.
- Accurately conduct testing and data management to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Ensure order accuracy and quality through document control, standard operating procedures and auditing
- Provide a high level of customer service for onsite testing support. Partner with customers as host for onsite package testing needs.
- Maintain 5S and various site standards and expectations.
- Maintain responsive customer communication regarding testing services provided. Update customer on test status, updates, results explanation and consultation for improvements and recommendations.
- Support Internal customers departments like Engineering Services with customer support or technical expertise.
- Responsible and duties that support the site lab operations, includes but not limited to duties associated logistics, administration, and facilities.

- Experience with autonomous vehicles
- 2-5 years of working laboratory experience in conducting product/packaging testing is preferred.
- Experience in packaging or product testing or related industry is ideal.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as protocols, industry specifications and procedures.
- Understanding packaging fundamentals.
- Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and general computer literacy.
- Math skills: Intermediate to advanced algebra, statistics and geometry.
