Advertising/Posting Title Lab Research Technician Posting Summary
This role will contribute to microbiology research on infectious diseases in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. Conduct routine and complex laboratory experiments and provide general laboratory support. The experiments are centered on using molecular and cellular biology techniques such as molecular cloning, mammalian tissue culture, gene/protein expression analysis, fluorescence microscopy and other related methods. General lab support will include preparation of solutions, ordering and inventory of supplies, and equipment maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Genetics, or related field. Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working in a research lab.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience in tissue culture, molecular biology, and microbiology (either academic or industrial). Excellent organizational and project management skills. Commitment to inclusive excellence.
Anticipated Pay Range $22.34-$24.62 Other Information Special Conditions A probationary period may be required, Contingent on continued funding, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), This position is ineligible for telework due to the essential functions, Background Check required for this position FLSA Non-Exempt Union Position Yes, UVMSU
