Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM
Pay Rate: $25.41 per hour
Position Summary
A Large University is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Sanitation Technician with a positive attitude and experience in sanitation or laboratory environments. This role supports the daily operation of animal care facilities by ensuring cages, equipment, and spaces are properly cleaned, sanitized, and maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Process animal cages and equipment within the sanitation unit on the clean side, dirty side, and/or designated washing centers
- Empty animal cages and prepare equipment for processing
- Detect and report malfunctioning or defective equipment to appropriate personnel
- Assemble clean cages, including filling with measured amounts of animal food and bedding
- Operate rack washers and autoclaves to process cages and equipment
- Fill and prepare water bottles
- Sanitize floors, walls, and work areas to maintain a clean and safe environment
Qualifications
- Prior experience in sanitation, animal care, or laboratory settings preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
- Dependable, team-oriented, and safety-conscious
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with cage handling and sanitation work
