Hiring a Front Desk office admin for a great lab in Stockton, CA

M-F Day shift, full time. Looking for someone long term to grow within company.

Job Description

This Lab Support role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced laboratory support environment that combines customer service, data entry, and shipping and receiving functions. You will play a key role in supporting laboratory operations by assisting customers with their samples, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring that materials and shipments are handled efficiently and safely. The position is ideal for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, motivated, and enjoys a hands-on role where accuracy and excellent service are highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with their laboratory samples, providing clear information and answering questions in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Perform accurate data entry, update systems, and maintain organized records related to samples, shipments, and inventory.
  • Receive and unload pallets and incoming shipments, ensuring items are checked, documented, and stored properly.
  • Stock supplies and maintain an organized work area to support smooth laboratory operations.
  • Prepare sample bottles and related materials for customer use according to established procedures.
  • Receive, prepare, clean, and package ice coolers for shipment, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.
  • Complete shipping and receiving tasks accurately and on schedule, including labeling, packaging, and documentation.
  • Follow company procedures and safety guidelines at all times to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Support other operational duties as needed, contributing to overall efficiency and teamwork within the lab support area.
  • Provide front desk and administrative support when required, including greeting visitors and responding to inquiries.

Essential Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage samples, records, and inventory accurately.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including data entry skills for maintaining electronic records and systems.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to lift and move pallets, coolers, and other materials as required, up to 50 pounds.
  • Dependable and punctual, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in customer service, warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, front desk, administrative support, or laboratory support is preferred but not required.
  • Comfort working in a hands-on role that involves physical tasks and direct interaction with customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy and quality while managing repetitive tasks.
  • Willingness to learn laboratory support procedures and adapt to changing operational needs.

Work Environment

The work environment is a busy, fast-paced laboratory support setting that involves a mix of customer-facing and back-of-house operational tasks. You will work with computers for data entry and record-keeping, handle pallets, coolers, and various shipping materials, and prepare sample bottles and supplies for customer use. The role requires regular movement, lifting, and organizing inventory, as well as adherence to safety procedures and guidelines. You will collaborate closely with a team while also managing independent tasks, contributing to a service-oriented, accuracy-focused culture where reliability and attention to detail are highly valued.

This is a Contract position based out of Stockton, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
