The Fountain Group is currently seeking a Quality Control Technician I for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Frederick, MD. Details for the position are as follows:

Job Title: Quality Control Technician I – QC Lab Support
Location: Frederick, MD 100% Onsite
Pay Rate: $21.59/hour
Duration: 1 Year Contract

The Quality Control Technician I will support QC laboratory operations by managing sample receipt, processing, storage, documentation, and shipment activities in a GMP-regulated biopharmaceutical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, verify, log, and track incoming samples using LIMS.
  • Process, aliquot, label, store, and organize samples for release, stability, and retain testing.
  • Coordinate sample transfers to internal and external testing laboratories.
  • Perform QC sample shipping activities and maintain chain of custody documentation.
  • Review sample processing records, logbooks, and laboratory documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Support deviation investigations and documentation as required.
  • Maintain sample storage areas through routine cleaning, organization, and inventory replenishment.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Material Management, Analytical Development, and QC teams to support sampling, testing, and disposition activities.
  • Participate in Lean Lab and Operational Excellence initiatives while ensuring compliance with GMP, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree OR
  • Associate's Degree with 2+ years of Quality Control or biopharmaceutical laboratory experience in an FDA-regulated environment OR
  • High School Diploma with 3+ years of Quality Control or biopharmaceutical laboratory experience in an FDA-regulated environment.
