The Laboratory Technician is responsible for installing, testing, and validating electric motors and related equipment in accordance with established procedures and specifications. This role supports daily laboratory operations, improves test efficiency, ensures reliable results, and documents all activities. The technician works closely with engineering and other teams while maintaining safety, organization, and quality standards.
Main Responsibilities
Perform electric motor and gearbox testing using standard laboratory equipment and procedures
Collect, receive, label, test, and analyze motors; accurately record results in ENS or other related system
Prepare and submit test reports to engineering teams and customers
Maintain laboratory organization, cleanliness, safety, and equipment calibration
Assisting in the development, improvement, and validation of new testing benches, fixtures, and laboratory test procedures in collaboration with engineering
Support new product development testing, validation, and certification efforts
Monitor motor inventory and laboratory tools; order supplies as needed
Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams on test requests
Maintain daily logs, procedures, and documentation
Follow all safety policies and laboratory standards
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
High School Diploma or Associate's Degree preferred
1-3 years of relevant laboratory, electrical, or technical experience preferred
Basic knowledge of electric motor theory, winding concepts, and electrical diagrams
Ability to read and interpret standards, procedures, specifications, drawings, and electrical schematics
Experience assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic equipment using hand tools and power supplies
Ability to inspect electrical systems and components to identify defects, hazards, or compliance issues
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Comfortable working with electrical power systems and laboratory test equipment
Proficient computer skills and ability to learn new laboratory systems and procedures
Continuous improvement mindset and openness to change
