Lab Technician / Chemist

BASIC FUNCTION:

Busy lab in the east valley is expanding their team. We are open to an entry level Lab Technician with strong skills in sample prep, wet chemistry, documentation, and analytical skills. We will also consider an experienced person with several years working in wet chemistry and analytical instrumentation such as ICP, AA, and related analysis.

The Lab Support role will assist with the daily, weekly and monthly tasks that are assigned to ensure proper and timely release of products, while adhering to all Good Laboratory Practices (GLP's). This position will work Monday - Friday during the day.

We need a self-motivated individual who will take initiative and communicate with the team. Strong skills in Excel, attention to detail, and the desire to work with our great small team will set you up for success!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sterile pack-out of finished product for microbiological sampling
• Physical testing of products; including, but not limited to, Water/Moisture testing, particle size, density, mesh retain, etc.
• Chemical testing of products; including, but not limited to, Loss on Drying, Assays, Acid Insoluble testing, Chemical Load, Fluoride, pH, etc.
• Utilizing lab-based equipment, such as an ICP-MS, for trace metal testing
• Data management for all tests conducted and proper submission to ensure accurate and reliable information
• Reagent Preparation to conduct tasks
• Lab Housekeeping
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor and Plant Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate's or Bachelors degree in a technical field is preferred - or combination of High School and years of relevant industry experience
• 0-5+ years of experience in a manufacturing/laboratory setting, including ICP-MS, is preferred but not required (equivalent combinations of education, training and experience are acceptable).
• Must possess sound judgement and the confidence to make logical decisions in areas of responsibility.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills as well the willingness and desire to work independently and follow issues through to resolution is essential.
• Must possess strong communication skills.
• Strong computer skills are necessary (email, database search and manipulations, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Must be able to work extended hours and non-standard schedules, as necessary. Must be able to perform various physical tasks of the job including bending over, extended periods on your feet and the ability to lift 40 pounds.
