    Description


     Primary Function: 

    The Lab Technician performs laboratory testing on dyes, pigments, chemicals, fibers, yarns, fabrics, and finished textile products to verify quality, durability, and compliance with company and industry standards. This role involves operating laboratory equipment, following written procedures, maintaining accurate test records, and collaborating with production and quality assurance teams to resolve product issues. 

    Duties: 
    • Utilize laboratory equipment such as scales, pH meter, pipettes, etc. 
    • Perform Dyeings & Analytical Tests on all dye classes and pigments as needed on woodchips, paper, drawdowns, fabric, yarn, etc.
    •  Perform Analytical Tests include weight per gallon, % Solids, % Moisture, Dust, Solubility, Wash tests, Crocking Tests, Viscosity, etc.   Perform Computer Readings on dyeings and drawdowns using color measurement system 
    •  Assist in establishing certificates of analysis (COA) 
    •  Mix liquid and/or powder samples, make dyeings and assist in monitoring stability for new product development. 
    •  Match customer samples for shade according to customer specifications. 
    •  Organize daily/weekly/monthly tasks for highest efficiency 
    •  Record, analyze, and report test results 
    •  Monitor/Maintain order in filing area for samples and project test results. 
    •  Maintain laboratory cleanliness and safety procedures 
    •  Any other duties assigned by Standardization Manager or Technical Director


     Requirements: 
    • Experience in a textile laboratory or manufacturing environment is preferred but not required 
    • Attention to detail 
    • Basic math skills 
    • Basic computer skills 
    • Good written and verbal communication skills 
    • Ability to lift up to 25lbs 
    • Pass Color Blindness test
