Client Overview:

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$20/hr - $21/hr

Position Overview:
The Lab Technician will support specialized solution development and testing for advanced flow energy systems. This hands-on laboratory role involves preparing, testing, and analyzing specialized solutions to ensure optimal performance in energy system applications. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an organic chemistry lab, a strong command of laboratory techniques, and meticulous attention to safety and data accuracy.

Responsibilities of the Lab Technician:
  • Prepare and test electrolyte solutions to support product development and performance testing.
  • Assist team members with chemical and materials analysis, including solution property evaluation.
  • Accurately record, analyze, and communicate experimental data and results.
  • Conduct dissolution, crystallization, and stability testing on lab-generated solutions.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, including chromatography (HPLC/GC), UV-VIS spectroscopy, and IR spectroscopy.
  • Manage laboratory documentation, waste streams, and ensure compliance with EH&S and hazardous waste protocols.
  • Work collaboratively to refine experimental methods for performance, durability, throughput, and cost improvements.
  • Translate experimental objectives into actionable metrics for project tracking.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment at all times.
Required Experience/Skills for the Lab Technician:
  • Strong understanding of chemical analysis techniques and laboratory hygiene.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced user level).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple experiments or priorities simultaneously.
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to laboratory safety and precision.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Lab Technician:
  • Experience in an organic chemistry laboratory.
  • Familiarity with analytical methods, including chromatography, IR spectroscopy, UV-VIS spectroscopy, and crystallization.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or other relevant scientific fields (granted or in progress).
