Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician I to join our team. This position involves working under the technical oversight of a Clinical Lab Scientist to perform specimen testing and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Participate in specimen testing according to established procedures.
• Record dates of receipt, use, and expiration for all reagents, kits, controls, and standards.
• Ensure that all materials used are not expired before use.
• Perform pipetting using pre-set devices, calibrated and approved automatic devices, or fixed volume dispensers.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment and document appropriately.
• Contact appropriate personnel for issues requiring complex instrument repairs.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures and safety requirements.
• Document all necessary activities, including preventative maintenance logs, instrument function checks, troubleshooting, and quality control.
• Develop an understanding of laboratory medicine and the clinical significance of laboratory results.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor"s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• Proficiency with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• High level of attention to detail with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

This position involves working in a laboratory setting and requires adherence to safety protocols and regulatory standards. The work environment is fast-paced, requiring both independent and team collaboration.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Agoura Hills, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.60/hr.
