Responsibilities
- Support study set up to prepare for necropsy and histology portions of non GLP and GLP studies.
- Train to fully support necropsy and histology techniques as outlined in SOPs and directed by study protocols.
- Communicate with the pathologist and laboratory manager to ensure proper collection, handling, and submission of specimens, including chain of custody forms for outsourced work.
- Ensure proper use and preventative maintenance of equipment and laboratory space.
- Maintain full traceability of work and specimens.
Requirements
- HS degree with 1-3 years of relevant experience OR A.S Degree with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
- Good Laboratory Practice Proficiency.
- Foundation in general laboratory skills and processes.
- Understanding of SOPs, lab safety, and PPE guidelines.
- Ability to recognize, document, and resolve data errors.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining efficiency and quality.
- Basic technical knowledge of relevant disciplines (histology, animal science) preferred.
- Hands-on experience with necropsy or tissue collection, histology, microtomy, tissue processing, or slide staining techniques preferred.
- Experience working in a GLP lab environment preferred.
