Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Lab Technician to support quality control, laboratory testing, and product analysis operations within an advanced manufacturing and R&D environment. This role is responsible for ensuring product quality through laboratory testing, data analysis, equipment calibration, and process monitoring throughout multiple stages of production.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and organizational skills, prior laboratory or technical experience, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Testing & Laboratory Analysis
• Perform laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products
• Conduct hardness testing, particle size analysis, density testing, pH analysis, sieve analysis, and other quality control procedures
• Perform specialized testing including SEM, ICP, FTIR, XRD, BET SSA, TGA, and image analysis testing
• Analyze and document test results while ensuring compliance with product specifications
• Approve or reject materials based on quality standards and testing outcomes
• Support audits, outlier investigations, and new product evaluations
Laboratory Operations & Recordkeeping
• Organize and prioritize daily sample testing workloads
• Maintain detailed laboratory records and documentation
• Enter and track testing data within computer systems and laboratory logs
• Assist with calibration and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and coordinate maintenance support as needed
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe laboratory work areas following 5S standards
Safety & Compliance
• Follow OSHA and plant-specific laboratory safety procedures
• Handle chemicals, hazardous materials, and laboratory equipment safely
• Participate in safety meetings, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Wear required PPE including safety glasses, gloves, face shields, and protective clothing
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1–3 years of laboratory, technical, or quality control experience preferred
• Analytical or technical manufacturing background preferred
• General R&D and laboratory knowledge, including chemical handling, required
• Ability to use Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability preferred
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to observe, analyze, and troubleshoot product and process issues effectively
Equipment & Testing Exposure
Candidates may work with advanced laboratory and analytical equipment including:
• SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope)
• ICP Analysis
• FTIR
• X-Ray Diffraction (XRD)
• BET Surface Area Testing
• Microscopes and Image Analyzers
• pH, Conductivity, and Density Testing Equipment
Work Environment
• Industrial laboratory and manufacturing environment
• Exposure to chemicals, dust, fumes, noise, and moving equipment
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and repetitive hand motions
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs as needed
• Flexibility to work overtime and alternate schedules when required
Additional Information
• Training schedule will initially be Monday–Friday
• Once trained, the regular schedule will transition to Tuesday–Saturday
• Candidates must be comfortable working around hazardous materials and industrial equipment
• Safety equipment and protective clothing are required in designated areas
• This position supports both Quality and R&D laboratory operations
