Job Title: Lab Technician - Day Shift - Immediate hire

Job Description

This Lab Technician position supports a high-volume, advanced technology laboratory by performing sample handling, accessioning, and processing activities with a strong focus on accuracy, quality, and safety. The role involves working in both warehouse and laboratory environments, handling biohazard materials, and maintaining precise records to ensure reliable testing and smooth laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties as assigned by the department in support of daily laboratory operations.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all samples, processes, and activities.
  • Recognize unusual results or outcomes, investigate issues, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Communicate unusual occurrences, issues, and findings to management and appropriate team members.
  • Carry out SATR-related tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Operate P512 equipment and related systems safely and efficiently.
  • Receive boxes and verify contents against documentation, ensuring proper logging and tracking of samples.
  • Sort samples accurately and efficiently to ensure correct routing for testing and processing.
  • Operate IDETIC equipment as assigned, following all laboratory protocols and safety procedures.
  • Conduct sample investigations to identify and resolve issues related to sample integrity, labeling, or processing.
  • Dispose of biohazard materials in compliance with laboratory safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control guidelines for all laboratory and warehouse tasks.
  • Perform data entry related to sample accessioning, processing, inventory, and quality control activities.
  • Support inventory management by tracking supplies, materials, and samples as required.
  • Contribute to a clean, organized, and positive working environment within the laboratory and warehouse areas.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent, AS preferred
  • Experience with laboratory sample handling and processing.
  • Hands-on experience in accessioning and working as an accessioner or lab assistant.
  • Proficiency in data entry related to laboratory operations, including accessioning and sample tracking.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhere to quality control standards.
  • Familiarity with inventory processes within a laboratory or warehouse environment.
  • Ability to recognize unusual results or outcomes and take appropriate action to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, labeling, and recordkeeping.
  • Ability to safely handle and dispose of biohazard materials in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Effective communication skills to report unusual occurrences and collaborate with management and team members.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a scientific discipline.
  • Experience working in an advanced technology laboratory environment.
  • Comfort using laboratory equipment such as P512 and IDETIC systems (training provided as needed).
  • Ability to work a consistent day shift schedule, including weekends, as assigned.
  • Flexibility to follow different training schedules based on operational needs.
  • Commitment to maintaining a positive, collaborative, and safety-focused work culture.

Work Environment

The role is based in a combined warehouse and laboratory environment within a large, well-lit, and clean facility that emphasizes advanced technology and high testing volumes. The laboratory is currently growing and experiencing increased testing volume due to new customer onboarding, offering a dynamic and fast-paced setting. Team members work in a positive, supportive environment where safety and quality are priorities. The position follows a day shift schedule with Sunday-Wednesday, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM. Training schedules may differ from regular hours and can change based on operational needs, such as Sunday-Tuesday, 10:00 AM-10:30 PM, or Thursday-Saturday, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM. The role involves handling and disposing of biohazard materials, working at laboratory benches and in warehouse areas, and adhering to all safety and laboratory protocols.

This is a Contract position based out of Norcross, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
