Lab Technician

Lab TechnicianLaboratory technicians carry out sampling, testing, measuring, recording and analyzing of results as part of a scientific team. Technicians provide all the required technical support to enable the Oncology Hematology Biomarkers laboratory to function effectively whilst adhering to correct procedures and health and safety guidelines. Summary of essential job functions:performing lab tests in order to produce reliable/precise data to support scientific investigationscarrying out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies to carry out analyses;preparing preclinical/clinical specimens and samples;constructing, maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment, for example centrifuges, pipetting machines and pH meters;ensuring the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced;recording and sometimes interpreting results to present to senior colleagues;using computers and performing mathematical calculations for the preparation of graphs;conducting searches on identified topics relevant to the research;following and ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks.Minimum requirements:Has a bachelor's degree in biological or physical sciencesHas 1-2 years wet laboratory experienceHas experience in flow cytometry, mammalian tissue culture, and molecular biology techniquesAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
