Overview:

We are seeking a temporary Lab Technician who will work onsite at a manufacturing facility collecting samples and performing testing in a laboratory environment. Will be responsible for meeting performance goals and maintaining quality, working under the direct supervision of the Lab Supervisor. Position requires a significant amount of walking during the day to collect the samples in various areas of the plant which could consist of 1-3 miles a day, depending on where samples are located. Anticipated duration: 3-6 months

 

Prior Lab experience is not required – Training provided.

Responsibilities:
  • Collect samples from different departments and transport to the lab. 
  • Perform testing and accurately record results.   
  • Data entry required for the samples
  • Assist with cleaning and organizing lab
Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good computer skills
  • Previous lab experience a plus
  • Must be safety oriented
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug test and background screening
  • Must comply with strict lab protocols regarding personal protective equipment (PPE) and hygiene.
Essential Functions:
  • Must be able to work around industrial equipment
  • Must be capable of walking the distance from parking lot to designated job area in addition to walking throughout a large manufacturing plant during course of day for required meetings and other required duties.  These roles require a significant amount of walking during the day to collect the samples in various areas of the plant which could consist of 1-3 miles a day, depending on where samples are located.
  • Must be able to work either 8 hour or 12 hour shifts
  • Must walk in pedestrian walk-ways (due to forklift traffic)
  • Must be able to recognize potential safety dangers around plant equipment and walk-ways
  • Must be able to wear a standard respirator and/or PAPR respirator in the plant.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time (majority of work will be conducted from a standing position)
  • Must be able to pass a Vision Test
