Job Title: Lab Technician
Location: Pineville, LA, 71360
Duration: 03 Months Contract
Shift: Standard Hours

Must Have:
1. English language skills
2. Can independently execute data entry from multiple sources

  • Knowledge and experience with laboratory testing procedures:
  • The candidate should possess a strong understanding of laboratory testing and good laboratory practices.
  • This includes the ability to conduct basic tests, analyze results, and document findings accurately.
  • Lab safety behaviors and techniques
  • Ability to follow scientific laboratory SOPs
  • Basic computer skills & typing and experience using Microsoft programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook email)
  • Ability to follow a written SOP
  • Ability to use a barcode scanner.

Job Description:
Conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests to assist scientists in making qualitative and quantitative analyses of solids, liquids, and gaseous materials for research and development of new products or processes, quality control, maintenance of environmental standards, and other work involving experimental, theoretical, or practical application of chemistry and related sciences.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Optimize lab procedures and succeed in producing reliable and important results that can be used to make a difference.
  • Responsible for handling sensitive equipment to analyze samples or substances and conduct tests reporting findings to a laboratory manager.
  • Receive, label and analyze samples (blood, toxic, tissue etc.)
  • Design and execute laboratory testing according standard procedures, make observations and interpret findings
  • Conduct experiments under defined conditions to verify/reject various types of hypotheses using refined scientific methods
  • Organize and store all chemicals substances, fluids and compressed gases according to safety instructions
  • Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility
  • Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies
  • Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment.

Education:

  • Degree in related discipline (Chemistry, Biology, etc.,) and/or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of complex laboratory techniques, equipment, terminology, materials and substances.
  • Skilled in the use of laboratory equipment, ability to create and analyze statistical calculations and prepare reports required.
