Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team in a newly established local lab, part of an international biotechnology company. The candidate will be introduced to food and dietary supplements for microbiology testing and will be responsible for applying GMP/GLP standards in all areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Apply GMP/GLP standards in all areas of responsibility.
• Learn and perform sample accession tasks including opening, registering, tracking, labeling, sending, and disposing of samples.
• Coordinate with client services to establish or update customer service procedures with guidance.
• Communicate discrepancies to appropriate personnel and assist with problem-solving.
• Handle internal customer inquiries and solve problems with assistance.
• Contact internal clients for clarification as needed.
• Comfortably use proprietary LIMS software in daily duties.
• Weigh and prepare samples for basic USP testing.

Essential Skills

• Experience in laboratory and microbiology tasks.
• Proficiency in handling laboratory technology.
• Comfort with using LIMS software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate"s degree in relevant sciences preferred, though relevant experience is acceptable.
• Computer literacy is essential.
• Comfortable handling allergens.

Work Environment

The position is based in a lab located in West Valley City, operating Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, with occasional Saturday hours. The lab team currently consists of 3 people, with plans to expand to 8-12 members. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required while working in the lab.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Salt Lake City, UT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
