Lab Technician

Our client, a world leader in life sciences and biotechnology, is looking for a “Lab Technician” based in San Diego, CA.

Job Duration: Long Term Contract (Possibility Of Extension)

Pay Rate : $25/hr on W2

Seeking a Lab Technician I to support laboratory operations by maintaining facilities and equipment, managing waste and supplies, and assisting research teams with day-to-day lab needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance of incubators, water baths, centrifuges, and cold-storage equipment.
  
• Log maintenance activities and laboratory data accurately using specialized software.
  
• Triage help-desk tickets and troubleshoot basic equipment issues and lab malfunctions.
  
• Conduct daily lab safety inspections and report concerns to EHS.
  
• Manage collection and safe disposal of biological and chemical hazardous waste.
  
• Wash and autoclave glassware and maintain PPE and laboratory supplies.
  
• Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and distribution.
  
• Support Lab Managers with equipment troubleshooting and laboratory maintenance procedures.
  

Required Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline + 1+ year lab experience, OR High School Diploma/GED + 3+ years of laboratory experience.
  
• Pipetting skills
  
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment safety regulations.
  
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, communication, and teamwork.
  
• Ability to troubleshoot routine laboratory/equipment issues.
  
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
