Laboratory Technician
Position Overview
Under the supervision of a Senior Technician or Scientist, the Laboratory Technician will perform laboratory testing, product stability analysis, and experimental activities with a high level of initiative and independence. This role will support the development and testing of body care products while ensuring accurate documentation, laboratory safety, and compliance with applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage product stability programs, including analysis, testing, documentation, and tracking of results.
- Record, organize, analyze, and communicate data and results from experiments and laboratory testing.
- Support laboratory batching of body care products, including hand soaps, body washes, and similar products.
- Prepare and coordinate product samples for testing and submission.
- Follow established experimental protocols and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable data.
- Handle laboratory materials and products in accordance with established safety and environmental guidelines.
- Work safely with chemicals, including potentially hazardous or toxic materials, while following all required laboratory safety protocols.
- Maintain clean, organized laboratory and storage areas.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure equipment is properly used and cared for.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Communicate testing progress, observations, and results effectively to Senior Technicians, Scientists, and other team members.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of demonstrated laboratory experience preferred.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to understand and follow detailed experimental protocols and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document and preserve experimental data.
- Comfortable working with chemicals, including toxic or hazardous materials, while following established safety practices and protocols.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and manage multiple laboratory activities.
- Ability to stand and work in a laboratory environment for extended periods of time.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant laboratory environment.
