    Description

Outlook Group is looking for an experienced, hands-on Label Department Lead to be the technical expert and go-to leader on our narrow-web label floor. In this role you will set the standard for how our presses run - coaching operators, driving faster and cleaner make-readies, leading 6S and housekeeping, and solving the toughest print, color, and finishing challenges.

You will work with the equipment that prints the quality labels we are known for - Mark Andy 4150s and MPS narrow-web flexo presses - producing pressure-sensitive, peel-and-reseal, and variable-data labels for industries including food and beverage, personal care, and consumer healthcare.

    Shift

    • 1st shift - Monday through Friday
    • Overtime required at times to support department workload

    What You Will Do

    • Be the department's technical subject matter expert and go-to troubleshooter for press, print quality, color, registration, die-cutting, and finishing issues
    • Train, coach, and mentor press and utility operators to build skill and consistency across the team
    • Lead make-ready and changeover improvements to cut setup time, reduce waste, and reach first-good-part faster
    • Drive 6S and housekeeping standardization on the label floor - visual controls, organized tooling, and sustained standards
    • Set and maintain best-practice operating standards for ink color, viscosity, web tension, and press speed
    • Ensure jobs meet customer quality specifications and support root-cause and corrective action efforts
    • Lead by example on safety; correct unsafe conditions and reinforce PPE, guarding, and safe chemical handling
    • Run presses and provide hands-on coverage as needed to keep the department on schedule

    What You Will Bring

    • 5+ years of experience operating narrow-web flexographic presses (Mark Andy 4150s and/or MPS preferred)
    • Strong expertise in make-ready, color management, die-cutting, and press troubleshooting
    • Experience as a lead, trainer, or senior operator who others turn to for answers
    • Familiarity with lean/6S and continuous improvement is a strong plus
    • Digital label printing experience (e.g., HP Indigo) is a plus, but not required
    • Strong attention to detail, solid communication, and good basic math skills
    • Reliable, safety-minded, and a great work ethic
    • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally

    What we offer you

    • Competitive hourly pay based on experience
    • 9 Paid Holidays
    • PTO - start earning it IMMEDIATELY
    • Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance
    • Short Term Disability Insurance
    • Employee Assistance Program
    • 401K + employer match
