Are you passionate about making a profound impact on the precious moments of childbirth? We are eagerly seeking a dedicated and compassionate Permanent Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time day shift position where you will be an integral part of a collaborative healthcare team dedicated to providing the highest quality care to our patients during one of the most important times in their lives. Responsibilities:

As a Labor & Delivery RN, you will be entrusted with the critical responsibility of caring for mothers and their newborns during the labor, delivery, and postpartum stages. Your duties will include but are not limited to:

1. Providing direct patient care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.
2. Monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition as appropriate, utilizing computerized documentation systems.
3. Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care plans for laboring mothers.
4. Collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
5. Assisting physicians during examinations and procedures, as necessary.
6. Providing education and support to patients and their families regarding post-partum care, infant care, and complications post-delivery.
7. Responding to and referring incoming patient treatment-related phone calls.
8. Instructing and educating patients and families on topics such as health education, disease prevention, and childbirth, and developing health improvement programs.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Labor & Delivery RN position will possess a compassionate nature, a strong ability to work under pressure, and exceptional communication skills. Required qualifications for this position include:

1. A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
2. A minimum of 1 yr of nursing experience in Labor & Delivery preferred but not required.
3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
4. Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with patients, medical staff, and the public.
5. The ability to make quick decisions, establish priorities, and react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
6. Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
7. A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
8. Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.
