Labor & Employment Associate Attorney
Location: Chattanooga, TN (Onsite)
Billable Requirement: 1,800 hours
Experience Level: Minimum 2+ years of experience as an attorney in employment law
Position Overview
A premier regional law firm is seeking a talented and driven Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join its growing department in Chattanooga, TN. This onsite role offers the opportunity to manage high-level employment law matters, handle all phases of litigation, and provide strategic counsel to a diverse client base in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive employment law advice under both state and federal regulations; review and prepare employment-related documents.
Partner directly with clients across Human Resources, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Recruiting, Talent, and HR Compliance sectors to address a broad range of employment concerns.
Execute all phases of litigation, including drafting discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
Keep a pulse on evolving legislation, regulations, case law, and government enforcement to provide proactive, strategic advice to clients.
Coordinate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
Maintain highly organized and closely monitored client files.
Skills and Competencies
Experience: 2+ years of dedicated legal experience in employment law. Prior experience with direct client/employer advice and counseling is highly preferred.
License: Must be licensed in the state of TN and in good standing.
Advocacy & Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to advocate effectively for diverse client types.
Problem Solving: Demonstrated analytical skills with a proactive approach to resolving and closing complex open issues.
Time Management: Strong ability to meet strict deadlines under significant time pressure; skilled at independently managing resources and balancing conflicting priorities.
Team Player: A collaborative mindset with a willingness to pitch in and support a rapidly expanding practice group.
