    Job Description

    About the Firm

Our client is a premier, highly respected Labor & Employment defense boutique known for providing sophisticated legal counsel and aggressive advocacy to employers nationwide. The firm represents a wide range of clients—from mid-market enterprises to Fortune 500 corporations and public sector entities—across the full spectrum of labor and employment matters.

    Position Overview

We are seeking a talented and motivated Labor & Employment Associate Attorney with 3 to 5 years of dedicated experience to join a thriving practice.

This role offers immediate, hands-on experience and direct client contact. The ideal candidate will be prepared to "jump right in," handling administrative charge responses, client counseling, and traditional labor matters from day one.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Agency Defense & Position Statements: Draft compelling, strategic position statements and defend employers against EEOC, NLRB, and state/local agency administrative charges.
    • Client Counseling & Compliance: Provide daily actionable advice to management and HR executives regarding workplace accommodations (ADA), leave policies (FMLA), wage & hour, disciplining/terminations, and overall statutory compliance.
    • Traditional Labor: Assist with National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) matters, unfair labor practice (ULP) charges, labor contract administration, and collective bargaining support.
    • Arbitration & Litigation: Ideally represent employers in labor arbitration hearings, grievance proceedings, and related L&E litigation.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Experience: 3–5 years of focused experience in labor and employment law (defense side strongly preferred).
    • Core Competencies:
    • Proven track record drafting position statements for EEOC and state anti-discrimination agencies.
    • Demonstrated familiarity with traditional labor law (NLRB practice and Taft-Hartley compliance).
    • Solid mastery of FMLA, ADA, Title VII, ADEA, and related federal and state employment statutes.
    • Preferred Experience: First-hand experience preparing for and handling labor arbitration hearings.
    • Credentials: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active bar admission in good standing in [State].
    • Soft Skills: Outstanding legal research, writing, and analytical abilities; strong advocate mindset; ability to manage a busy caseload independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

    What We Offer

    • High level of responsibility and early autonomy with sophisticated, high-profile matters.
    • Direct mentorship from leading partners in the L&E field.
    • Competitive compensation structure, dynamic bonus eligibility, and comprehensive benefits.
