Position Summary:

Ogletree Deakins' Sacramento office is seeking an Associate to join its employment litigation practice. We are seeking an attorney with litigation experience, or a strong interest in pursuing a litigation-focused practice, who is interested in representing employers in workplace disputes and building a long-term career in labor and employment.

The position offers meaningful litigation experience, including responsibility for managing cases through discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, arbitrations, and trial preparation. Prior employment law experience is not required; candidates with experience in any litigation-focused practice area are encouraged to apply.

For candidates interested in a broader practice, the role also provides opportunities to advise employers on workplace policies, employment law compliance, training, and day-to-day counseling matters.

We welcome applications from attorneys at varying experience levels, including those with several years of practice who are looking to transition into or expand their labor and employment background.

Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor. Qualified candidates must be licensed to practice law and in good standing in California. Must meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice throughout employment.
  • Candidates should possess at least 1+ years of experience practicing in the field of California labor and employment law. Civil litigation and/or trial experience is also a plus.
  • Job requires excellent analytical and writing skills; strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task; passion for client service and practice development.
  • Excellent academics are expected.

Benefits:

In accordance with California’s amended labor code as stated in Senate Bill 1162, the expected salary range for this California position is $185,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. This position qualifies for the benefits below.
